Remember Sony having a press release saying God of War 2 had over 1 million plus pre-orders? According to NPD in March, that game sold less than 900,000 copies. I wonder if their idea of "preorders" is companies like Best Buy, Circuit City, etc. having already placed their initial orders for the game. I don't know a single person who has preordered Halo but know about 15 who will buy it on launch day. |
That's a good point, actually. I'm certain the stores combined order over 1 million copies of God of War 2. So, it is feasible to believe the stores are ordering Halo 3 in massive numbers. |
The difference here is that this game is not coming out for around another 6 months, whereas the millionth pre-order for GoW 2 came a couple of weeks before launch. Although now GoW 2 has actually sold 1M in NA
