I'll have to go with Yakuza 3. It's just a staggeringly multifaceted game: I laughed, I cried (when Rikiya died!), and I nerd raged (Ultimate Skill Mode - Tag Battle #5... what a bunch of bullshit). The combination of sandbox beat 'em up and Japanese drama is just so fucking magical. I can't remember ever being so utterly charmed by a game, and when the credits finally rolled, I found out that wrestling legend Yoshiaki Fujiwara voices Kage, a revelation which would have pretty much sealed the deal all by itself!
