If those are his thoughts/words (Mario being too gay), then chances are he isn't going to be very enthusiastic about any of Nintendo's offerings, especially the Wii series of games. Hell he probably won't even look twice at some of the "maturer" first party titles such as Metroid or Zelda for trivial reasons like "Samus is a woman" or "Zelda is an elf".
If this is the case then there is practically no justification for a possible Wii purchase. Higher quality third party games are in larger volumes on the X360, unless of course he really REALLY likes those niche games like Muramasa and Little King's Story. Even then he's still probably better off with an X360.
I'm sorry but anyone who thinks Mario is "too gay" really has no business owning a Wii.
