Considering VGChartz overestimated XBox 360 shipments by over 60% that would not bode too well for software sales...
Japan is overall the best tracked region I think, we also usually get these figures after we get the data from the regional trackers, so this should be the case. With regard to US/NA, there have been plenty of bloopers if we take NPD's figures.
Apart from the UK, Europe and others are probably the hardest to track.
