Exactly. Also one of the icons of America, The Statue of Liberty, was a gift from France. We named everything French this and French that for ages. From food items to sex items. Don't let me bring up the celebration of Mardi Gras. And don't REALLY let me bring up the lesser-thought-of fact that the English language was shaped strongly by French words.
