Nintendo made better games from the standpoint of being more fun to more people. In terms of beating Apple, I'm not sure if being unable to win is the right assertion, remember that's what they said about Sony and Microsoft, which are still giants in terms of resources.
It's probably gonna be quite difficult though, and if I were a Nintendo or Apple fan, I'd flee dedication to either company as soon as possible.
