I believe that Nintendo is going to focus on making sure the 3ds is a success so they are going to significantly drop the support that the ds gets. They did this with the gba after the ds launched. It seemed like first party support and quality third party support for the gba dropped immediately after the ds launched.
I think that the Wii software won't suffer in the short term because they already have numerous products in the works that are going to be released. I think that Nintendo is going to release the wii successor in late 2011 or early 2012 and they will announce it at e3 2011. I am basing this off of what they did with the ds and wii.
