How many times must it be said that they get more money if some people buy the game new and the sell it, versus one or a few more people buying the game and then sharing it online? The money they gain from file sharing people is very little, the money they gain from people selling the game is much more.

Let's think 1/1000 buys the game to be able to share it online. That's 1*$50=$50. But let's say 3/1000 buy the game and then resell is later. That's 3*$50=$150. And that's probably way too low for people buying the game new and then reselling it. Please say you get m

y point at least...?

Look if we are going to be taking the grandscale of things, piracy is still more beneficial than use-game sales. Both the US and Dutch government showed that piracy can't be said ruins any form of sale, meanwhile it says that it increases incomes from other venues that pertain to the product.

Meanwhile if you have a guy who pays $5-$10 less, it is almost guaranteed he would buy it new if it wasn't available as used.

I'm not going into this 'cause I haven't done too much research but I doubt you have either. I've read about that piracy research too, though. Anyway, $5-$10 less than a new copy is probably too little, I'd almost rather buy new than support some Gamestop that's ripping me off with their prices. That's why I use eBay-like online stores for used games, that's where I can really save.

And means like this to prevent used game sales? As you see, at least I won't support it at all. That's definitely a lost sale, not a gained one (by making saving impossible).

On the individual scale, it doesn't fucking matter since the developer sees no money. As far as you yourself are concerned you deprived a developer of $50.

They deprived themselves by trying to force me to use Steam. It's not lost money, it's a lost sale. More like failing to gain a sale.

Anyway, what about my car example? You still haven't answered that. What's so different about it that allows you to ignore that argument completely?
