Yep it plugs right in. It sits on top of the Wii by itself too, I didn't even have to tape it or anything. Any updates on someone trying to shrink wrap a controller to make it waterproof? I want to try it! :P I have actually tried the ziploc thing many times while floating down the river. It failed every time and everything got soaked. I don't want to risk that...
