Oh geez that's a great score. Despite a lot of early talk about this game really coming out to be just a sequel of unused things from the first one, it doesn't seem like Nintendo has viewed it this way at all. Based on numerous videos, news stories, interviews, new revelations, and of course this review it seems Nintendo has gone out of its way to destroy the "just a sequel notion".

Super Mario Galaxy 1 is still one of my most favorite games of this generation, but I've always been wondering how they were going to be able to pull this sequel off and still keep that "wow factor" from the first one. Well from what I've seen looks like they have done it with flying colors. Possibly redefining what we think of when we see a 2 behind a game now as it can be more than just a continuation.

Seems this thread has become more about EDGE than Super Mario Galaxy 2 which I guess is fine but I'd more like to talk about the game. EDGE to me is like any other reviewer that has their scores corrupted by outside notions and circumstances, but given their score history I do think they try to make sure large brands and big budgets don't equate to high scores.

I am looking at this to be what SMB3 was to SMB1   Not really so much a sequal to a great game, but a great game that will have its own greatness.  Well, I can hope
