First of all, there was never a "Wii 2" being planned for release this year. This is a fanboy fantasy in Mr. Pachter's head.

Secondly, Nintendo is doing just fine and there is no reason to worry about them. Okay, so they sold less hardware and software in a year where we saw consumer spending levels reaching all-time lows. Does that mean their bubble is bursting?

In truth, they still have huge profits, and will continue to have huge profits. This is while other companies are still trying to make up their losses.

Third, Nintendo is being decidedly reserved on their projections. They don't want to be put in the position of having to lower their forecasts again. Also, they really can't foresee how successful a product like Wii Sleep might be. So they are being reserved, and it's more likely this time that they will outsell their projections.
