"Marvel at the pieces, but appreciate the whole. This isn't a game that redefines the genre: this is one that rolls it up and locks it away. We've come so far, from stepping on mushrooms to drop-kicking meteors into the heart of the sun; Galaxy 2 offers a new understanding of where we've been, a new sense of wonder at where we'll go next. They can't torment other games about this, and then give Mario a free pass. I don't care how good the game is. If they don't get a free pass, then Mario shouldn't get one either.

From what I've read from their reasoning, they dont like games that have essentially be done before, or have busted mechanics.

The fact that a sequel which is clearly based on the first game is so original and fresh that it doesnt feel stale in the slightest is amazing and makes me rediculously hyped.
