Nintendo released financial data for the year ended March 31, 2010 today, and it's time to update my OP analyzing the number of employees at the company.

Year ended March 31, 2006: 3,150 employees
Year ended March 31, 2007: 3,373 employees (+7% YoY)
Year ended March 31, 2008: 3,768 employees (+11% YoY)
Year ended March 31, 2009: 4,130 employees (+10% YoY)
Year ended March 31, 2010: 4,425 employees (+7% YoY)

My guess that Nintendo would have 4500 employees by now was almost on target, slightly overprojected. Considering the data so far and by reading Nintendos forward-looking statements, my new estimation for the year ending March 31, 2011 is that the company will have 4600 employees. The hiring rate will probably slow down now that the Wii has lost some of its steam...

need to developp for the 3DS though....

and as with everything, the more complicated the tech, the more resources you need for the developpment. (though 3D can be done by a GPU without previous coding on the dev's part (as in 3D vision), I doubt that the 3DS will be very processing intensive...)

Then again, doing an easy to develop for console has always helped...

As Khuutra said... nice post.

Who ever said that low post count meant no interesting posts...

/looks at own post history
