I think the Wii in general needs to become a home of new IP's, both first and third party. For most franchises I don't think the ideal of motion controls is the correct way in progressing them forward, and I think they'd be more suited to the HD gaming style. The games which best express the Wii Remote have generally been new IP's (Zack and Wiki, Trauma Center, Wii Sports etc), and I find myself most excited about either new IP's or old franchises seeing a resurrection.

Nintendo do need to lead by example on this, but I don't honestly think any company can afford to do this in their consoles first year. PS3 has suffered heavily due to not having an recogniseable franchises, and that's generally why all the new IP's Sony created for it have had little impression on Hardware sales thus far. Now the Wii is successful though I'm hoping to see Nintendo innovate a bit more with new characters.

Miyamoto said in an interview post-E3 they're currectly working on a new IP for the Wii, in the same vein Pikmin was new to the GameCube. I can find a link if anyone doesn't want to believe me (Just quote this post and ask), but I can't be bothered to look if you'll take my word on it :P.

I see the impotus more on 3rd parties though. We're all tired of spin
