Rechargable AAs are your friend.
I bought 2 pairs of UNiROSS Hybrios for £7 about a month after I bought my Wii, even on battery draining games like Twilight Princess they last a good 20 hours, most games with the nunchuck attached and pointer functions working will manage nearly 30 hours, and games like Wii Sports probably double that.
If you buy 2 pairs like I did you can swap and change as they don't lose charge like older types. I think mine might now be starting to show signs of age (over 3000 hours of using the Wii) as they sometimes only show 3 bars when I put them in... double charging them seems to work but I don't know if that's safe.... anyhoo, bargain 3000 hours+ for £7. (though they will be cheaper now)
