Drop the PSP to $139, drop the bundles to $169, and bundle the Go with a game at $199 and I think it'd be doing much better. Since early last year the system has been getting a pretty steady supply of both first party games and Japanese titles, so library isn't the issue it once was. I think we'll see a price cut sometime this year, possibly at GamesCom. They'll probably lower the price in preparation for the PSP2 if nothing else. |
If my memory serves me right it has had two price drops in west. From $249 to 199$ and then from $199 to $169. In japan it has had only one price drop though (from 20 000 yen to 17 000). I agree that it needs new price drop though because sales are horrible especially in usa. (last price drop in west was in beginning of 2008 if I remember right)
