The Micro is the greatest Game Boy in the world for GBA games. If you need GB/GBC/GBA games you need a GBA-SP Mark 2 (the later one with the superior backlight). But if you only want to play a GBA game, anything other than the Micro is madness. The screen is even better than the first DS. This thing came out AFTER the first DS. The screen is gorgeous.
I have the kickass anniversary edition that looks like the original Famicom controller. I LOVE THE MICRO.
