I've seen tuns of SnS users at the higher HR's, so don't worry about a population issue, I have only seen 2 other Gunners that stick to Gunning, have 1 of them on my Friend List the other one just comes and goes.
SnS... 4 SnS's would be enough to cripple a Deviljho forever look at it that way, it's like a pack of rabid wolves destroying something.
Anyway, SnS isn't all about status effects, they are very similar to Guns in that you can do thingst he long way or the fast way.
Online Tier 1 I can choose to kill Royal Ludroth in 100+ shots or kill it in 20 shots. It's really down to what I want to do and what options I use.
100+ shots to ludroths body or whatever with any shot except fire or 20 shots of fire to it's face. (Which is actually 60 shots technically.)
