No, it's not auto. You can turn off the gambits. 

Seriously, as anyone, other than me, actually tried to play the game without gambits? >_> 

Sure we could but then the battles were so damn long and boring(even more boring then with gambits on), hell playing FFXII without gambits made the battlesystem of WKC look like something from F-Zero.



If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)
