About France ,though ,you wouldnt be an independent country if they hadnt financed your little revolution and faced with their proffesional army that was in America the British army .Or do you think some colonnes just scared the hell out of the british colonial army ?Read your hystory books ,without France help both military and economic the States would have never had a chance of getting rid of UK . |
Easy for a Spainard to say! Seriously though. No one frightened anyone away in the American Revolution. The US won by annoying the hell out of England and costing them enough money. Even when things were grim the US kept fighting and England got sick of it and felt the US wasn't worth any more blood and treasure to keep. They would of won the war in time. Well kind of. They British Army didn't really have enough troops to keep the colonies under full control. It basically would of been... well Iraq, with liberation miltias attacking brittish troops and then vanishing into the countrysides. Hence why they likely thought it was a good reason to just give up on it. The was won due to the colonies's will. (Or stubborness if you perfer) Also, the French arn't even the same government that supported the US during the revolutionary war... so the US really needs to hold no thanks to the french. In fact the money the french spend on the US Revolutionary War was a contributing factor to the French Revolutionary War as the debt made it harder on the ruling class. So that really was a win-win as long as you consider the French Revolutionary War a worthy endevor.
