Well I've been calling this since the beginning of March because thought they were going to do it to beef up end of fiscal year 2010 results. But it seems they are doing it to make "bolder" predictions for fiscal year 2011. Which really to me means they hit their targets for fiscal year 2010 on hardware and software.
But also doing this of course to make sure as many people as possible have motion plus so that when Zelda Wii (or potentially other 1st party/3rd party exclusive games to be announced) will have the largest userbase possible. Possibly some form of a counter action against Natal/Move but I think it is more software invested than anything.
