Not true. While I don't agree in how easily it would empty the orphanages, as has been modified in a later post by RockSmith, it would be a step in the right direction. The worst thing for the child is to be left, unwanted, in an overburdened system, with no network of support for when they turn 18 and are kicked out of said system. These children aren't going to know what it's like to be in a loving family. They can't suddenly afford to live on their own, so they become a burden on another system, further creating a need for them to be dependant, rather than an individual. Whereas, say, an 8 year old gets adopted into a caring family with 2 fathers (or 2 mothers), then the child can see what love truely is like, and have a support to fall back on should shit hit the fan later. And when that awkward time comes, there's someone they can speak with. The only detriment I could see from this is some extra teasing from some kids at school, but if anything, it would make the kid come out stronger, and realize who his true friends are.

A child NEEDS both male and femal parent. 2 males(or 2 females) are not capable of raising a child. not properly anyways. And while i agree that not getting adopted at all is pretty bad, its not as bad as having 2 fathers/mothers as your parents.
