Of course, Valve would never sell UT3 on Steam, but a lot of current sales are digital distribution on PC. Unlike consoles, digital distribution can actually make up the majority of the sales of individual games on PC. Especially for Valve's games. |
Valve is the only comapny being widely successful in the PC gaming realm right now though. Thats becasue half-life is god-like and steam is damn good. Other companies arent selling well. Even John Carmack who hates the PS3 with a passion is porting Quake Wars to the 360 and PS3.
