I'm surprised that it is that high too. I think there is a pretty good chance the game does does better in the West than SMG 1, but I'm expecting much smaller numbers in Japan, I was thinking maybe only ~500k total. Sequels in Japan just don't seem to do that well a lot of the time, and I think with NSMB Wii Japan already has the Mario game they want.
