Just turn them off, you won't miss them. Now if only they were disabled in the thread under the post box I could just forget they exist.
Also it seems hardly anyone follows this rule anymore.
"Signatures will be no longer than to the end of the time stamp (which is under your avatar) in a single line post"
Though I suppose they screwed it up when they added the tags for systems, online, IM, codes, etc. So there isn't really any static size now.
