I wouldn't say you're wrong, just oh so exaggerated. There will always be people who are just biased and don't know what they're talking about. Cars, paintings, gaming, whatever. They're everywhere.
I have no idea what the situation is over and all in the real world. From personal experience, I just know that most of the "gamers" I know consider the PS3 the giant that tramples the 360, while the Wii looks on from inside its gigantic cave, built from the eyeballs of all the people it has cheated into thinking that it has good games.
It's pretty sad, but fortunately only a reflection of a certain group, namely the ones who grew up playing Counter-Strike.
And while the KB commercials are extreme in nature, they're not "just" about the gamer. Look at the Uncharted 2, LittleBigPlanet and blu-ray commercials for some good examples.
