defiantly get a steam account and brows the sales just look for older and inde games. as for specifics the original mount & glade should run fine and probably warband would run to, starcraft and warcraft 3 are good options, Diablo II as well, you could try one of Spiderweb software's games (http://www.spiderwebsoftware.com/) they are shareware so you can play a good part of the games for free.
