@Xero : I agree 100% Xero. That's the main trouble with MS : they're not buying / opening studios, which kills their future in the console world actually. They need to open studios now and decide they're in for 10 or 20 years.

On the long run, how are you supposed to compete when your competitor has tons more studios which release tons more AAA exclusives ? Exclusives are the fuel of this war...

I mean, the fact Bungie or any 3rd party leaves could have been planned long ago. It was all predictable.

In my opinion, MS strategy was influenced by Xbox 1 failure. They thought they couldn't afford buying or opening studios because had 360 been a failure too, they wanted to be able to leave the console market completely and closing / selling back those studios would have cost them a lot. So they poured money in timed exclusives, rushed their console and made the price lower. It worked even better than they expected... on the short run.

But now that the 360 is more successful than planned, their strategy is coming back to haunt them. They basically survive by having a lower price and some timed exclusives, but this strategy can only work if the PS3 is a lot more expansive, otherwise they just can't compete (not enough exclusives, no bluray...). Every time the PS3 price gets lower, 360 looses more market share. And PS3 price has a lot of ground left.

No exclusives = no reason to buy this console and not the competitor.

Their lack of 1st part studios will kill them in the long run on the console market.
