Crazzyman the PS2 doubled its sales in its second year because it was released in US and Europe. The first year graph shows mainly (!) Japan only.
The PS3 was released in the US and Europe during the first 6 months of its life thats because it is unlikely for it to double its sales next year.
That was just as easy as possible. I hope you understand now.
