As for getting a PSP simply to play old PSX games, I wouldn't. You can go to any hole in the wall used game store or even a thrift store and find a used Playstation for 10-20 bucks and then just buy the original games for that. And the selection for what you can play on the PSP will always be limited. |
Or, he could just play the original disc games on his PS3.

If he has a PS3 compatible with playing older games. As many of the newer ones, they removed that feature.

all PS3's are compatible with PS1 games. You also download many of the digitally released PS1 classic off PSN

Truth. And whether you get a PSP 3000 or a PSP Go, if you put a PS1 game (disc or download) in your PS3, you can play it on your PSP via remote play! It's awesome!
Anyhoo, I've posted enough in this thread. I love my PSP 3000 and I can see the appeal of a PSP Go. If you can get either one, I say get one (and if you get Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max, look for me online!). Later, dude.
