The industry is voluntarily regulated and stores like Wal-Mart, GameStop, etc. I believe ask people suspected of being under 17 for ID when they buy M-rated games. They won't even put out "Adult Only 18+" video games in stores ffs. What more does this nanny state government want? So as long as parents buy their kids Halo, Gears, God of War, etc., they are going to continue playing the games (and for the record, I don't see any problem with parents buying these games for their children. That's their decision. Violent video games do not influence children to be criminals. Eric Harris, Columbine Shooter, may have played a lot of Doom. But the dude was a psychopath. He already had a predisposition to anti-social behaviour and would have killed those people even if Doom never existed. Violent video games may attract psychopaths/sociopaths. But they don't make people into psychopaths/sociopaths. Guys like the Columbine shooters and Cho were born with those traits. And it was the years of bullying combined with that predisposition to anti-social behaviour that brought them over the edge.)
