Something doesn't seem right. If diff in shipped is allegedly 4 mil, and diff in sold is 5.5ish according to vgchartz, well, I doubt there's a difference of 1.5 million consoles currently in channels.
Something's gotta give. When the official figures come in it'd be interested to see if VGChartz is right or this article is wrong. It very well may be somewhere in the middle (remember, PS3 got adjusted down a lot right after the holidays, maybe it was an overadjust?), but I'd trust VGChartz numbers over dude's speculation.
