yea that's one of the reasons I am a bit uneasy about the 3DS as I think most developers are going to use the repotadly gamecube level graphics and the fact that 2D games won't benefit from sterioscopic 3D as an excuse to make all the games in polygonal 3D. But games like Muramasa etc give me a ray of hope, if the 3DS Castlevania games are in 3D I don't know what I will do... Probably still get them lol.
