But that's the point. When you have a game such as this, which features voices as an option, you shouldn't have to turn the voices off. It should just come with an option for the original voices. Its a stark contrast to an example such as Dragon Quest VIII on the PS2, which the original game didn't have voices and they ADDED voices to the western release. And some of the voices in that game were pretty bad as well. Yet people were willing to put up with those voices just because they thought Yangus and Jessica were good. Yet now people are complaining about the voices in this game are bad and are willing to buy a game and turn the voices off? Where's the threshold for 'bad voices'? Where does the general public decide to turn the voices off....or decide to not buy a game based on the voices. That's the point I was trying to bring up. These game developers who are churning out lackluster and cheesy dubs are at a point now where they pretty much need to start putting the original voices on the games. Because its going to start effecting their sales, if it hasn't already. I already know plenty of people who skipped over major JRPG titles because of the bad voices; such as Star Ocean 4, Tales of Symphonia/Vesperia and even Final Fantasy XIII. |
The Symphonia]dubs were actually quite good; I had no major problems with it. That said, I AM getting this either way, whether I like the voices or not.
