to everyone here, i am a muslim and that episode clearly hurt the sentiments of all muslims. it wasnt required when you know that you are going to offend someone by talking about their belief and religion. I dnt know ppl like to label muslims as terrorists and extremists these days but it is so easy to do that without understanding or bothering to understand their beliefs and values.
the southpark creators just want money and thats it, and how will they do it, obviously by talking about something that people dont like. its not necessary that what is funny to you is funny for everyone else.we dont like it when someone talks like that about our prophet (peace be upon him),period! and then why do people still do it or show things and hence intentionally/unintentionally hurt our feelings. As a human being, i wouldnt want to hurt someone if i knew what hurts that person but knowing so and still doing it makes people morons and i dont want to use any more foul words bcoz the creators of southpark arent worth it for me.

and ya one more thing: its all a question of faith and nothing more.. peace!!

The funny thing is (and what the episode was conveying) is that several years ago absolutely no body cared when south park showed an image of him in an episode but since the whole Danish cartoon fiasco people are making a big deal over what was previously just ignored and now his name can't even be mentioned on tv. The episodes in no way attempted to make fun of or intentionally upset muslims (even though every other religious leader was poked fun at). For some reason and what I suspect Tery and Matt find equally ridiculous is religion is given special protection over any other subject when it comes to satire.

Back to the OP, it wasn't a 'death threat' it was a warning saying that they could be harmed not that they would be. Still pathetic and equally abhorrent but slightly different to how it is being reported.

I dont know about several years ago what happened in southpark, but now that i hear about it, i am equally upset and i am sure muslims were upset everywhere.just that some lunatic dint say that he will kill southpark creators doesnt mean muslims were not offended.its not considered right in our religion to draw any pictures about our prophet(peace be upon him), and we do have a right to be upset if anyone does or say something stupid like that.like i said before in this thread, resorting to voilence is wrong, but being vocal about it in the right way is no wrong at all.

if someone says stupid things about your mom in certain cultures, then you would consider it a joke or take it lightly, bcoz its cool, things like that are common, but in certain cultures where people really consider their mom and dad next to god, then that person will get offended by your joke.maybe this helps! There are many things that are different in many religions but no religion teaches or preaches voilence and in the end we are all brothers..
