Nowadays, I think turn based RPGs are a bit...archaic.

I actually like them if they're a mix of turn-based and action. Like in Dragon Age Origins where you play in real-time but you can pause the action, give commands and strategically place people in the best positions. Or in FFXIII which was good fast-paced fun.
