I disagree man...The gameplay of Mario games are already top notch, what is lacking is a storyline. I thought the intro for Galaxy was epic, but the overall narrative was lacking (like with all Mario games). Disney animations appeal both to the fairytale, whimical senses but have awesome narratives as well. The only thing stopping Nintendo standing equal to Disney is their inability to write a good (heck, decent) narrative.


Actually, I would say that for the majority of classic Disney animations someone other than the Disney company wrote the narratives. For example, The Brothers Grim, Hans Christian Anderson, Lloyd Alexander, T. H. White, Collodi, J. M. Barrie, etc.
