FF1: 6/10 While I loved this game at release. It simply hasn't aged well. Simple things like your party members attacking already dead enemies instead of choosing another target show this games age. The remakes fixed that aspect and it improved the games atrocious speed and dated graphics but game still only remains passable by todays standards.

FF2: 6/10 The game play was inferior to FF1 IMO but it was the first game in the series that had some character depth. Unlike the first game your characters were not generic and had their own back story. The three of them and a fourth always changing guest character experienced this games quest. If the game even had FF1 archaic advancement system I'd probably bump it up a point but it doesn't. You literally can go into battle against a weak enemy and beat up your on part members to increase their attributes. The GBA remake did not fix this. That is what ultimately hampered the FFII experience.
