400k a month was when slim/pricecut was new and during a holiday season. It's not maintaining anywhere near that at this point. Also, launching a year earlier carries as many disadvantages as advantages, by this point, it should be ignored. If the 360 launched a year later, it would have better specs (which would likely give it the edge over the PS3) as well as better construction, and no RROD. If the PS3 was not the fastest system (but still launched as the most expensive) and 360 had no RROD holding it back, that would hardly have been to the PS3's benefit. (Especially since the 360 only sold 5.5 million units that first year) |
When slim was released at 299 it was more than 400k.Anywhere near?Pls.check data for march,february,january....every week
ps3 outsold 360 by 70-100k+ WORLDWIDE(4,5 weeks in month its somewhere 300-400k at least monthly),lets say this pattern stays the same
4 next 12 months thats 3.5 millions(assume it sells 300k more monthly).Im not saying this gonna happen 100%,just IF it happens.
Also launching earlier has much more advantages than disadvantages, its only ms poor hardware handling that put them in this situation but still ey did a great work thx to earlier launch.Sony also had HW problems even with later start and lets say longer testing(my 60gb ps3 died from ylod).
Im just saying that 360 and ps3 sales should be compared in same time on market,ok 360 was launched earlier, lets give ps3 longer time on same market, and THEN compare total sales.By some of ur logic ms can announce x720 next month and ey d be declared as winers.
