1) is really Apple trying to infiltrate the gaming industry? It might be flash mini-games, but with the success of their handhelds, the demand will increase and they will have to create deeper and more complex games.

2) What do you think about the expansion of Apple in the gaming industry? 3) Will VGchartz compile someday the sales of the Apple's systems? 4) Will the gaming industry recognize Apple as a new entry?

3) I'll take a guess and say that Apple will enter the market if NPD and other market researcher are able to retrace the sales of softwares.

4) Are people recognizing Ipod/Pad as gaming systems? I don't think so. But Apple is becoming a treat since the Ipod begins to substitute the purchase of a DS or PSP as an opportunity cost for some people.

But again, softwares need to be improved further. I think that games need to be the main point of the Ipod to bring recognition to the system as a "gaming" one.

When will Apple's systems be recognized as gaming handhelds? 2012?

1) Has already tried and succeded. Don't expect a huge Apple 1st party or moneyhatted exclusives, but Apple have entered the gaming industry in an incredible way

2) The more the merrier - for the most part, Apple is getting customers by expanding the industry, and letting people game more

3) Impossible, Apple is tightlipped about software sales (and hardware sales through the Apple stores) and the Iphone is sold at way too many retailers to be easy to track

4) Most of it already has, just not forum trolls or the low calibre gaming sites

iPhone is sold at limited carriers, that actually makes the tracking hard, if not impossible. If it would be sold everywhere, getting the sales data would be much easier. Just like it currently is with games and consoles. If the carriers would provide the data, it would be the easiest hardware to track on the site.
