If you care about graphics that much, get a gaming rig. Consoles can never compete with gaming rigs graphics-wise.
People like the OP, they sound like the ignorant people in RL that have criticized my decision for getting a Wii because it's HD.
Them: "The Wii is for kids, not adults"
Me: No More Heroes and Madworld are on the Wii and they are certaintly not for kids.
Them: But it's not teh HD. It suxorz.
I prefer the Xbox 360 because it has more "core" games and I'd be missing out on a lot of these games with just a Wii but the Wii has a lot of great core exclusives (whereas the PS3 and 360 share like 80+% of the library) and the console offers a different experience. Making it a solid compliment to the 360/PS3.
Seriously give the Wii a real shake. The graphics do look "last gen" but if the game is fun, that shouldn't bother you. Unless you are a graphics whore. I had a lot of fun with No More Heroes. Probably more than I've had from a HD game for awhile.
Sure the HD games may look better but a lot of these big-budget AAA blockbusters focus so much on the graphics, the hype, the marketing, the shock value that they forget about the fun. Fun does not necessarily correlate with metacritic ratings and production budgets. On the 360, I find that it's the underrated games that tend to give me the most satisfaction. Crackdown is perceived by the gaming media as inferior to and much more flawed than Halo 3 and Gears of War 2. However I had a ton of fun with Crackdown and felt that Halo 3 and Gears of War 2's campaigns were tedious and boring. And online play is filled with a bunch of assholes. I probably won't even bother with Call of Duty.
