Otherwise it was a good read with a good point, but i think i did miss his point in what makes something art.
Apparently, in his view, it means something becoming an acclaimed classic as time passes. Otherwise the comparisons to other forms of entertainment don't really hold.
Anyway, art is the process of creation, as an objective metric, otherwise we are talking about art as purely subjective, which makes Ebert being just as right as the people who disagree him.
