If you remember well, the first ps1 controller (before they even released the first dualshock) lacked the analogue stick and rumble. And it really was a SNES controller rip-off with two buttons added (L2 + R2). Then, N64 released in 1996 with an analogue stick followed by starfox 64 in 1997 that came packed with a rumble pack. Then, Sony's response to Nintendo was the dualshock with analogue sticks and rumble.
Well, i still agree with anyone who says it is by copying that in some way, that these companys contribute to make the industry move foward rather than backward.
