I'm throwing a LAN party for this game as monster hunter series for some reason has a massive amount of cult followers of the game in the Roseville area. I was expecting some more of the Nintendo guys to be getting excited, but it really doesn't seem that way. Instead I've seen a bunch of hype for Alan Wake, which I'm sure will be a great game, but comes out a few weeks after and we have a small 360 userbase on this site compared to the other two. Where is the Monster Hunter Hype Machine?! |
Honestly, commericalls are better than hype. Okami was hyped, but little marketing for either version. New Super Mario Bros Wii had little hype either, but there was quite a bit of marketing.
Hype isn't necessary to sell a game if you market it well (and be a game that appeals to enough people).
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs
