| Severance said: lots of people praised this game to the roof, they called it one experience that shouldn't be missed and the gameplay is flawless, and the characters and storyline is amazing well, did we play the same game here? =s i am here to tell you, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME, if you see it, ignore it and buy something good like Metroid or Monster Hunter , this game is overrated , yes OVERRATED! here is whats wrong with it. -Motion Plus DOESNT WORK! , yes you know that motion plus ad on it? , well its useless , it doesn't work as well as Wii Sports Resort , to the point were you just waggle and wish wash everything in your way, even the armored guys can be taken out easily -The Characters ... what characters? some Wax off wax on master who just sits there, and a girl with "boobiez!" who just tells you or "please help them kill the jackals! " "Kill the jackals" "kill the jackals" and my favorite "The jackals , go kill them!" -Storyline, you are a bounty hunter and you kill people and thats it. -Challenge, the game is too easy, too easy that one the hardest difficulty you can take an army just by going in their back and stabbing them or do the "Hidden Strikes" -the voice acting, "Haha! u gunna dai!" "i tark enrish becawz i are japanese" "Hey i got boobs you must obey! go throw yourself in the gangs hideout and kill them all!" - the missions they are nothing interesting and they are all the same thing! , go kill those guys and go kill those guys, over and over and over again! - Level design , go to this board and accept this mission now go to point x and finish it now go back and repeat , there is no exploration and the level is very linear and there is nothing interesting in it!
now the pros -the graphics , did they give this game good reviews because of this? i can't believe it, good Graphics =/= good game! and this game proves it. -The music , while everything is repetitive , the music is good, but you hardly listen to it with all the crappy voices =s |
Well although I respect your opinion, I must say you mention something that is completely impossible. It is almost IMPOSSIBLE to waggle in this game and win it. I know I'm probably a much stronger person than you physically, and I TRIED very very hard to waggle and see if I couldmake a strong slash attack. And I couldn't. Majority of time it wouldn't even make a sword attack.
No indeed the motionplus does exactly what it is supposed to in this game. Although not true 1:1, it does enough to make you replicate your sword attacks accurately and have the character on screen replicate them. And somethign it prides it self on is being a full-body experience and thatis absolutely true after playing and beating the game. Personally, I think it exceeds what the sword game did in WSR. Although I still want that true 1:1 that is a bit to ask when you aren't physically similar to characters you'll be playing or as talented as they are. RS2 is able to compensate that to still make your actions that you imitate as fluid as possible to match that on screen. Controls work very well in this game to accomplish what they do.
Now maybe we are just going to disagree on that, but I don't know how far you have gotten into the game. But that one point you made makes me think you need to give it a little more time. Characters and voice acting though are a downside, but no worse than other games I've played... some that are consider big budget. I won't name any, but I get used to "silly" voide acting in games. Story, though, you haven't gotten far enough to see that there is more to what you are doing that meets the eye. Missions, though like a lot of adventure games, sometimes do get repetitive. However, the ability to play them all different (and the necessity in ease of beating them) gives them a very unique feel every time. I almost never approached a battle the same way, and luckily for me it made the game much easier. The game is about adapting to different battles and different enemies after you learn your new moves and attacks. And then when you get to the later levels, combining them all into your skillset to be able to fluidly take down bosses.
So all I can say, is maybe it just isn't your type of game. I thoroughly enjoyed it, although i did have my minor complaints of mainly the characters who seemed uninspired. I would have also liked to have seen more exploration as you pointed out, but I did get lost in the areas I was in so maybe that wouldn't have been as good of an idea.
