Could it actually be talking about the money earned/cost? I haven't looked at the whole thing, just at what was on the Op and Barozi's post.

Well I thought there was some Japanese word that means 10,000 that often gets mistranslated as a million, and it doesn't really make too much sense to me for them to be talking about revenue in dollars.

also when you put it through another translating program (babelfish) it comes out to:

“Demon `s Souls” (PS3) result 280,000 book (plan 7.5 ten thousand)

Yeah, Google Translate does that... it lead to some pretty crazy mistakes.

Yeah, the Japanese use the term man to mean 10,000 of something.  "7.5 man" would be 75k.
