I'm not embarrassed. He hasn't been the best, I think anyone would admit that. But he did inherit a country on the brink of a major recession (ok, partially his fault), two wars that were un-winnable yet at the same time you can't pull out of all too easily, and an incredibly bloated public service sector, as well as several other extremely negative factors.
Given the state our country was left in when Blair left, I have to admit he has done much better than I expected. I remember when Brown came in thinking that the country would be lucky to make it out half as well as it has done so far. He has performed above my expectations, although I think you can tell that my expectations were low anyway lol.
