I don't think it is based of anything.

However there is a Wii-Dancing Game "Dancing with the Stars", which bases on a TV-Show with the same name. (Maybe you have mixed up these two ...)

I knew about that one.

 

It's just hard to believe some came up with a dancing game that has nothing to do with some other form of media. Glad to see it's selling well though.

I am pretty sure Just Dance has something to do with already released music tracks.

I have a feeling the game was based off of the dancing mini game in raving rabbids
