| binary solo said: Perfect example of story telling in games =/= perfect story telling. Best story delivery mechanism = Books. Ergo perfect story telling in an absolute sense is only possibly via books. 2nd best = live theatre (as long as it's not a musical, IMO) 3rd best = movies / TV (as long as it's not a musical, IMO) 4th best = video games So, Uncharted 2 (according to Capt. Morgan) is the perfect example of story telling in one of the worst mediums for story telling. That's like winning a gold medal at the special Olympics. With compliments like that, who needs insults? |
The thread title is misleading, you should read the actual quote.
“There is absolutely no reason why you can’t weld a really good narrative to a really cool shooting game,” Morgan told NowGamer.
“Uncharted 2 is the perfect example…it’s tongue-in-cheek, but it’s a compelling story and it’s a very straight-forward gameplay dynamic.
Everything this man says just has to be twisted by some of the so-called journalists we have here in the industry, none of the recent headlines regarding what he has said have been true to the actual quote, twisting his words for sensationalism.
EDIT: Correction, his MW2 comments were rather truthfully depicted I think, but that's it.
