No, they looked at the 3DV technology. Natal is using Primesense + Microsoft proprietary software, big difference there.
OT: Theres no point. Nintendo are the leaders and the incumbants. They have all the time in the world to plan their moves. They don't have to act like the Sony of this generation and rush things to market because they're under pressure. They have the profit, they have the mind share and they have the ability to consider their oppositions moves and plan their own. In chess terms they have board position and have knocked over their oponents queen.
